कभी - कभी कहानियां लिखती हूँ,
कुछ बीते हुए लम्हों को नया मोड़ देकर,
कुछ आने वाले कल के सपने सजाकर। 

और इंतज़ार करती हूँ,
पर ना  बीता हुआ पल बदलता है,
ना ही आने वाला कल सवांरता है ,

रह जाती है तो मेरी कहानियां,
जिनके साथ ख्यालों में ही सही, मेरे सपने मेरी उम्मीदें सांस लेती हैं ,
जिनके साथ शब्दों में ही सही, पर थोड़ी सी ज़िन्दगी जी लेती हूँ मैं !

Translation

Sometimes I write stories.
stories about the past with a new twist.
stories about the dreamy future.

and I wait...

But neither the past changes it's course.
nor the future seems any better.

But my stories remain
through them i live my dreams and my hopes don't die.
 through them i feel alive at least for a while.
